In 2012, the K-12 Foundation collaborated with David DePeal of Hair Productions, Havasu Fitness, and Shugrue’s Family Restaurants to establish the Golden Apple Award, aimed at recognizing and rewarding the dedication of educators within our local school district, LHUSD#1. Initially conceptualized by educator and K-12 Board member, Sherry Dailey, the award was later renamed in her honor following her passing.

The Sherry Dailey Golden Apple Award is presented monthly during the school year to an outstanding certified teacher who exhibits exceptional dedication and excellence in their profession. Recipients are selected by their peers within the school community. Since it’s inception, additional businesses have joined in supporting this initiative. Presently, State Farm Cinda Ross, Shugrue’s Family Restaurants, Anderson Auto Group, Small Cakes, College Street Brewery, Foothills Bank, Human Bean, Destination Havasu, Bliss Beauty and Steven’s Tacos contribute gifts to the recipient, who also receives a plaque from the K-12 Foundation in recognition of their achievement.
